On this Sunday, October 20, Saint-Barthélemy will come alive again with the long-awaited return of the Running and walking the Coteaux du Seignanx. Emerging from the ashes of the old Seignanx race, this sporting event dynamically orchestrated by the municipalities of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx in collaboration with Energym, merges the excitement of the race with the serenity of the picturesque landscapes of the Adour valley. On your marks, ready for a unique sporting experience set in the lush nature of the South-West!
There Race and Walk of the Coteaux du Seignanx return in force to Saint-Barthélemy, on Sunday October 20, for a new edition full of surprises and emotions. After its interruption due to the pandemic, this unmissable sporting event is reborn thanks to the enthusiasm of the two municipalities, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx. Participants and supporters are invited to soak up the beauty of the landscapes while taking on exciting sporting challenges.
A Renaissance Through Communal Will
The emblematic Seignanx race had disappeared from the radar during the pandemic, but that was without counting on the determination of the mayors, Pierre Latour and Julien Fichot. Driven by a common desire to bring this event back to life, they collaborated to create the Running and walking the Coteaux du Seignanx. This sporting reinvention symbolizes the community spirit and resilience of the region, providing locals and visitors with a valuable opportunity to celebrate nature and physical endeavor.
A Journey of Beauty Between Hillsides and Valleys
This year, the program offers a 12 kilometer run and a 10 kilometer walk. The courses embrace the heart of the hillsides, offering breathtaking views of the Barthes, the Adour valley and the Sequé lands. These landscape treasures are made accessible thanks to the commitment of 44 volunteers who ensure the safety and orientation of participants throughout the routes. Come and enjoy this beautiful sporting escape where nature is revealed from a new angle.
A Sunday Punctuated by Sporting Passion
The festivities will begin at the Saint-Barthélemy pediment, located on the banks of the Adour. Walking enthusiasts are expected at 8:30 a.m. for a departure scheduled for 9 a.m. The runners, for their part, will attack the 12 kilometers from 9:30 a.m. Sporting challenge and conviviality will be the key words of this day orchestrated by Energym, with the meticulous organization of Magali Grenade and the dynamic support of Xavier Chirles and Bruno Milan. Participants are already sure of having a memorable experience.
